Ripley County
Ozark Foothills Child Advocacy Center (OFCAC) is a member of the
Missouri Network of Child Advocacy Centers, whose mission is to
promote, assist, and support the development, growth, and continuation
of the multidisciplinary approach to child sexual abuse. This facility
opened its doors in July 2003, after three years of planning and
development. OFCAC services help to ensure that sexually abused
children are not further traumatized by the system intended to
help them, by utilizing a forensic interview method in a child
friendly setting, and by providing crisis intervention and mental
health treatment. Another important issue we address is the prevention
of child sexual abuse. To further our efforts we have joined forces
with Prevent Child Abuse Missouri to launch the Enough Abuse Ripley
County campaign. On July 22, 2005, members of Enough Abuse Ripley
County unanimously agreed to accept the challenge to protect our
children, increase awareness, and ultimately prevent child sexual
abuse.
